The Hall

In 1932 the land on which the hall stands was given to the village by Louis Hilary Shore Nightingale for the construction of an institute to be called 'The Florence Nightingale Memorial Hall'.

The foundation stone was laid by HRH Edward Prince of Wales on 2nd. June 1932.  An extension was added and a foundation stone laid by HRH Princess Anne on 27th. July 1982.

Committee

General Management and control of the hall is vested in a council of trustees made up from members of the organisations who regularly use the hall. 
This council meets at the AGM which is held in April/May each year. Day to day running of the hall is vested in the management committee which meets monthly throughout the year.
